Merry Christmas, Season’s Greetings, Happy Holidays

and a Happy New Year to all.

The Van Iseghem’s wish you all the best in the New Year.   2005 was a great year for our family.

We enjoyed each other and our family had rewarding and enriching experiences this year.

The boys are getting to be as big as their Dad and Nancy keeps us all in line.  Nancy’s unbridled enthusiasm for life is contagious and we enjoy all the events she plans.  It is always fun.  She’s organized so what!

We surprised the boys by flying Eric up from NYC for the Holidays.  We are so glad to have him with us.

We spent some time on Canandaigua Lake with the boys and Richie and Griffin.  It is always fun visiting my hometown, spending time with Georgia, Ed and my Mom.  I especially enjoy eating my Mom’s potato salad – the world’s best.  Eric visited again from Brooklyn via the Fresh Air Fund.  Please think about supporting this organization.  It truly is wonderful and we have been blessed to have Eric in our lives.  He stays with us for 2 weeks and it is both rewarding and loads of fun.

We had a nice vacation in Sanibel Island, Florida.  Lil’ Buddy Joel and Holly (aka Ginger) accompanied us to a wonderful condo and a week of fun.  The week at the condo was won during a fundraiser raffle for our good friend Jon Searing who died in 2004.  We thought of Jon often.  The week was filled with activity, relaxation and fun. We rode bicycles over the entire island and saw Manatees, large Alligators and nearly lost Holly to dehydration and pale skin sun exhaustion.  We rented a boat and explored the intercoastal. While Nancy and I were enjoying a secluded beach Joel and Holly drank the entire cooler of beer.  They claimed it was hot and they couldn’t resist. Well, the Captain was not enthused with Lil’ Buddy.  I forgave them once we got to port and the pool cabana.  That Gilligan is always causing problems!

Nancy and her Mom met Sister Judy in Colorado to have a reunion with some cousins. They had a wonderful time enjoying nature and one another.  Cousin Carl Hartman hosted the event that featured 11 Hartman women.  I hear he was great with all the gals.

Sounds to me he should have been named the Pope.

He is from Grandma (Hartman) McMullen's clan from Ohiaaah.

We had the Curtis Clan together for Judy’s visit from Alaska.  We missed Jan but had a wonderful time with Judy, Carson and Jaz.

Chuck, Missy, Cory, Tanner and Max had a great time too.  After using 7 cameras and about 7000 exposures we got this acceptable photo.

Judy's visit was like the prodigal daughter coming home.  Those Alaskans are a wild bunch.  The Easterners were planning for Judy's arrival for something like 7 months.  Chuck and I wisely just sat back and watched it all unfold.  The visit was worth the wait and anticipation just to witness the arm wrestling contests.  These crazy sisters take their arm wrestling very serious.  Just ask Kerry Ed.

We spent Thanksgiving in NYC and met up with a bunch of  friends  from Fairport, Victor,  and CT.  It was a blast.  We took a horse carriage ride through Central Park to fulfill a life dream of Nancy’s.  We spent 3 hours waiting to eat dinner at some fancy fashionable location on the upper east side.  It was called 'Serendipity.'  They are famous for their "Frozen Hot Chocolate."  The food was OK but a three hour wait for a milk shake with a package of Swiss Miss in it was ...............  what was Seinfeld thinking!  At least the company was good.

Kerry Ed and Curtis John both played baseball and I coached.  It was a lot of fun.  Kerry Ed played football and scored 3 touchdowns.  The one pictured was from a fumble recovery while playing cornerback.  He had two others on offense as a wide receiver.

Since Judy visited in October she was able to see her nephew, Kerry Ed, play football.  The best part was Mom handing out her ginger snap cookies! Somehow I always gauge an event by the food. Thx Bob for the coffee.

Kerry Ed's good friend, Cory Egan, is moving to Philadelphia, PA.  We will miss you Cory!

See you at Yankee Stadium!
